When seeking out therapy, many of us are interested in change or in becoming a better version of ourselves. When we engage in therapy, though, we’re confronted with a paradox: In order to evolve, we need to first accept and love this version of ourselves. I’m interested in supporting my clients as they grapple with this conflict, finding the foundational experiences that have grown into obstacles and making peace with them.
Informed by psychodynamics, attachment theory and Internal Family Systems, my intention is to create a space where my clients can experience the emotional attunement and safety that is required for deep self-exploration and healing. My approach is curious, collaborative and direct, and I believe that respect is essential to any relationship, especially a therapeutic one. I hope to engage my clients in a process of meeting parts of self that have been in hiding, moving closer to personal truth, and creating a through line from vulnerability to self-confidence.
I received my Bachelor’s of Science in Comparative Human Development from the University of Chicago and my Master’s degree from the Columbia School of Social Work. Before working in private practice, I provided therapeutic services in a range of settings, including community mental health centers, NYC public schools and group practices. I’m especially passionate about supporting young women as they work through transitions and relational issues.
I am in network with most Aetna and BCBS insurance plans, and offer sliding scale rates for clients who are out of network.
